Segment Definitions

Segment Definitions are named MeData value assertions. They enable Audiences to be created. The Mobile SDK subscribes to / unsubcribes from the Segment Definitions according to the on-egde collected value of the specified MeData Definitions.

The Segment Definitions page displays Segment Definitions table. On this page you can:

  • Create a new Segment Definition by clicking the plus button on the top right corner of the table
  • Edit a Segment Definition either by double clicking on it in the table or by clicking 3 dot icon in its row and clicking 'Edit' in the context menu

Segment Definition Editor

The editor lets you create a new or edit an existing Segment Definition. A Segment Definition has following fields:

  • Programmatic name: a language-independent (programmatic) name to be used within scripts
  • Display name: a human language name for display purposes
  • Description: an optional description
  • MeData Assertion: a value assertion for the selected MeData Definition

For example you could create a Segment Definition named "UK Residents" with following MeData value assertion:

Device Country EQUALS UK
